We went to Highland Elementary tonight. We have gone there with Leah for the last 2 years. On the playground there is a large rainbow slide that has been a point of tension and fear for Leah. She has never gone down it. Actually she has never even climbed the stairs to get to the top of the slide.
That all changed tonight. We got to the playground and there were other kids there. All of them going down the slide. She mustered up the courage to climb to the top of the slide. Once she got there she called down to me to come up and go with her. I climbed up there and we went down together. Once that happened she was off. She easily went down 15-20 times and came down with a smile on her face each time. At the end of the eveing she didn't want to leave.
